Having graduated with a PhD in Ecology from Stony Brook University, Shoemaker is now an Assistant Professor in the Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences Dept at the University of Nevada, Reno. There, his lab team works to support the conservation and management of wildlife populations in the Great Basin and beyond using analytical and simulation tools. During his time at Applied Biomathematics, Shoemaker helped to develop these same tools to aid in research that he is currently conducting.
